About Us

The Ridge Ascot Medical Centre is a brand new, privately owned, bulk billing medical practice which opened in July 2016. It is owned and run by a small group of Western Australian general practitioners.

There are 5 male and 2 female GPs working at the centre. There is currently one doctor working every weekday but we have a vision to grow into a thriving medical centre with several doctors, nurses and receptionists working daily in the months to come. We have on site pathology and there are plans to provide an on site pharmacy.

Our staff are passionate about providing up to date and efficient primary health care in a safe and friendly environment. We believe in continuity of care and can cater for the health needs of every member of your family.

Appointments

Our appointments are made at 10 minute intervals. If you feel that you may need a longer appointment, please let us know and we can book a longer one for you. While we try to run on time, there may be occasions when a doctor is running late, often because they are providing a patient with urgent care. Please be assured that the doctor will give you the appropriate consultation.

If you have a preferred doctor, please advise us when you are booking your appointment. If you are unable to attend your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can offer the appointment to another patient.

Appointments can be made below or by phoning 9478 3009.

After hours: For any urgent matters call 000 or go to the emergency department at Royal Perth Hospital. If you need a GP after hours you can call one of several after hours home doctor services or attend the Royal Perth After Hours GP Clinic on the corner of Lord and Goderich Streets, East Perth. FEES AND BILLING

The vast majority of services are bulk billed during normal working hours for patients registered with Medicare. Services that are not bulk billed are: Mirena insertion, implanon insertion and removal and vasectomies. A list of these fees can be found at reception.

CANCELLATION FEES

In consideration of others, please phone to let us know if you are unable to keep an appointment, as you may incur a fee which is not covered by Medicare. Please ask reception about fee conditions.

RESULTS

As a general rule, we do not give results over the phone. An appointment must be made with your doctor.

MEDICAL CERTIFICATES

It is important to make an appointment to see the doctor on the day of your illness as we are unable to back date certificates.

REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS

It is in the best interest of your health to be seen by the doctor whenever a repeat prescription is required. In some cases, however, a prescription for continuing medication may be written without a consultation and a fee may be charged for this service.

REFERALS TO SPECIALISTS

Please make an appointment to see the doctor to discuss referrals or renewal of referrals to specialists. Contact the specialist or test centre for their fees/out of pocket expenses.

HOME VISITS

When necessary these are usually scheduled during office hours. Please discuss with your doctor.

RECALL/REMINDER SYSTEM

Our practice has a recall system for health promotion, prevention and assisting the management of chronic disease. Please advise your doctor, the nurse or the receptionist if you wish to have your name removed from this programme.

CONTACTING YOUR DOCTOR

Doctors can be contacted via telephone during normal practice hours. The reception staff will take messages when the doctor concerned is attending to another patient or is unavailable. Emails will be forwarded to the doctor.
